Vinz Koller

Vinz Koller has lived on the Monterey Peninsula for more than 20 years. He is a former chair of the Democratic 27th Assembly District Committee and served on the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party. He worked on the 2004 presidential campaign at the DNC in Washington DC as well as in the swing states of Arizona and Oregon. For the 2008 primary campaign he travelled to New Hampshire, Texas, New Mexico, and Oregon. Here in Monterey County he set up a countywide precinct program for the Monterey County Democrats and has managed the Democratic Party campaigns since 2004. He is a member of the 2008 Electoral College where he cast his vote for President Obama on behalf of all voters in the 17th Congressional District.

He is a firm believer in reaching fellow voters person-to-person to build a strong, effective, and unified Democratic Party that represents the dreams of the many and not the privileges of the few.

Vinz is Director of Training and Technical Assistance at Social Policy Research Associates and is in frequent demand as trainer and facilitator on a wide range of workforce development related topics for the U.S. Department of Labor and for state and local agencies. His specialty is in leadership development, organizational improvement and in managing for results. He has an MA in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and a BA in political science and English from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

In his free time he likes to hike the Big Sur coastline, paddle on the bay in his kayak, or climb Sierra peaks on skis or ride the bike trails at the former Fort Ord. He is a passionate bread baker. For more than 15 seasons he has also been singing in the Carmel Bach Festival chorus.

You might run into him at the Carmel beach with his wife Ann and their dog Phoebe.
