Occupation: Incumbent

Education and Qualifications: I am an incumbent Director for NCFD seeking your vote to assure that continuity, cohesiveness and trust remain among the board, administration, the bargaining units and the public. I have worked with my Board to foster entrepreneurial management practices, which have resulted in unprecedented legal reforms, necessary equipment acquisition, personnel training and development. Our fiscal management has resulted in a debt free district with the latest and most up to date equipment, the highest trained and motivated personnel, as well as savings to the taxpayers.

I have supported the recruitment, hiring and retention of the highest caliber employees. I have researched and authored scientific studies focusing on effective and efficient performance of the duties of firefighters. Because I am a NCFD Fire Board Member I also represent the Citizens as President of the Special Districts Association of Monterey County and as a LAFCO Commissioner. It is my intention to continue these responsible management practices; providing ethical, moral, fair and pragmatic solutions to all issues that concern not only NCFD but the county as a whole. I have earned a Ph.D. in Organization Psychology, M.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Public Administration and a certificate in Special District Management. Thank you Don Champion
