LeVonne Stone

LeVonne Stone is a dedicated Democrat: Vice-Chair of the Monterey County Democratic Central Committee, a member of MCDCC Executive Board, a member of the California Democratic Party and a delegate to the State Democratic Convention.

LeVonne is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Fort Ord Environmental Justice Network, Inc. A tireless community leader and activist, LeVonne has been involved in the Fort Ord restoration and re-use program since 1992, focusing on improving the participation of minorities and the low-income community.

Under LeVonne's leadership FOEJN has received an Environmental Protection Agency Technical Assistance grant, and more recently an Environmental Justice grant from the state of California. The state has recognized her for her work helping to write California's environmental justice policy.

LeVonne was formerly an employee with the Directorate of Logistics of the Base Realignment Commission and with Department of Defense Accounting Services at Fort Ord. She has also worked for the Oceanography Department at the Naval Postgraduate School, where she received the Unsung Hero Award.
